Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite - Full phone specifications
Smartphones for the Samsung Galaxy S Series and Galaxy Note Series have always been a prime example of what high-end Android smartphones are capable of. These devices are highly sought after and always point to a premium on offer by other brands. Now, Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite to compete better with brands like OnePlus and lower the entry point for the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. These new smartphones cost around Tk 2,5. 40,000 which is significantly less than their self-version.

We have already tested the Galaxy S10 Lite (review) and now we have the Galaxy Note 10 Lite. The starting price is Rs. It's definitely cheaper than the 38,999 Galaxy Note 10 or Galaxy Note 10+ (review). Samsung has left a bunch of premium features though. Such as IP rating and wireless charging to prevent dust and water to meet this low price. However, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite still has the S Pen stylus that separates the Note series and still packs in a larger battery. Has Samsung gone overboard with a spending cut, or has the Galaxy Note 10 provided enough to justify the price of the lights? We have put the Galaxy Note 10 Lite for testing.

Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite - Full phone specifications

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite Design
Samsung has not thankfully left a crisp AMOLED display in practice. You still get a full-HD + (1080x2400 pixels) resolution and a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with HDR support. However, this phone does not sport any ultrasonic fingerprint scanner like Galaxy Note 10+, instead it has a standard CMOS fingerprint scanner.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite has a hole-punch cutout in the center toward the top of the display, similar to what we saw in the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy A5 1 (review). The Galaxy Note 10 Lite has a thin bezel around it to help give it a premium look. We found the display bright enough with a good viewing angle for the outside viewing.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite's frame looks metallic and cools to the touch in an air-conditioned room. The Power and Volume buttons are on the right, and are fairly accessible when you hold the device in hand. On the left side, you will find the Galaxy Note 10 Lite SIM tray. It has a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, loudspeaker grille, and bottom S Pen silo. The inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone socket surprised the Galaxy S10 Lite not being there. Only a secondary microphone at the top.

Not as premium as the glass panels on the Galaxy Note 10+, we've got a touch on the back of this phone. The rear simply lifts the smudges and you have to delete them. Alternatively, you can use the case that is included in the Samsung box. There is a rectangular camera module on the back that we saw on a recent Galaxy A-Series smartphone to make this camera module almost flush with the rear panel. The phone is notably thick as 8.7mm and weighs 199 grams.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite packs a 4,500mAh battery and you get a 25W charger in the box. This charger has a USB Type-C output, so the Type-C cable in the box has a USB Type-C. You get headphones too but this is not the premium A kg units you get with the flagship series.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite specification and software
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite is powered by Exynos 9810 SC, not by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SC like the Galaxy S10 Lite. The Exynos 9810 SC is the same processor that Samsung used for the Galaxy S9 (Review) so it's two years old, and not something we were expecting on a smartphone at this price point today.

Connection options on the Galaxy Note 10 Lite include Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi AC, NFC, and four navigation systems. All common sensors are present and the Note 10 Lite also packs in 4,500 mAh batteries. The smartphone is available in two variants: the base variant has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage and is priced at Rs. 38.999. The higher variant is 8GB of RAM and the same 128GB storage is priced at Rs. 40.999.

In terms of software, you're getting One UI 2.0 on top of Android 10, and our review device was running the January 2020 security patch. We are accustomed to One UI very quickly and have had no problems navigating through the menus. You also have the option of enabling swipe-based navigation.

Most of the S Pen stylus features of the high-end Galaxy Note series are still available on this smartphone. You can pull it up when the phone is on standby to take notes on the device quickly. The S Pen can be used as a remote shutter to take photos and switch between the primary and selfie cameras. You won't find some air action that the Galaxy Note 10 +'s S Pen can perform, such as zooming in or out and switching between different camera modes.

With the full suite of Facebook, Netflix, Google Apps and a few Microsoft applications installed, with Galaxy Note 10+ we also got the 'Link to Windows' feature on the smartphone. The Galaxy Store is an alternative to the Google Play Store. The Dolby Atmos is available, but it doesn't just work with the earphone but with the device's loudspeaker.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite Performance

Samsung has used an older processor in Galaxy Note 10 Lite, but you won't notice it until you run the benchmark by observing the numbers. The smartphone delivers a smooth user experience with no lag or lift. We can even multitask on the device without the need to stop applications running in the background.

We found the in-display fingerprint scanner to be slower than the ultrasonic Galaxy Note 10+. There is also face recognition, which uses a selfie camera located in the punch-punch to quickly scan and unlock the smartphone.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite's display has good viewing angles and the speaker comes loud enough to enjoy content on the smartphone. We've run our standard on the device to see how the old Exynos 9810 fare against the more recent processors. The Galaxy Note 10 Lite returns a 3,04,593 score on Antutu, which is lower than the Galaxy S10 Lite Post 4,63,856. In the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench 5, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite managed 710 and 2,041 points, respectively. As a graphics standard, the device achieved 40fps and 25fps respectively in the GFXBench Manhattan 3.0 and Car Chase, respectively.

We played PUBG Mobile on Galaxy Note 10 Lite and it defaults to higher settings. We played a few arcade matches with no weight. However, we noticed that the device warmed up to the touch very quickly. It registered only a 4 percent battery drop after 10 minutes of gameplay.

In our HD video loop test, the smartphone lasted 17 hours 35 minutes which is a respectable time. With our use, which plays a few games, browsing the Internet and using Google Maps for navigation, the battery is easily sustained with us for about a day and a half. The 25W charger provided was able to get this phone in 60 percent in half an hour and it took more than an hour to get up to full charge.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite Camera
The Galaxy Note 10 Lite's camera module includes three 12-megapixel cameras. The primary has an F / 1.7 aperture, as well as an F / 2.2 aperture on the OIS, wide-angle camera, and the telephoto camera has an F / 2.4 aperture. On the front, there is a 32-megapixel shooter with an F / 2.2 aperture. There is no dual-pixel autofocus that we've seen on Samsung's flagship smartphone, and the focus is a bit slower in comparison. The Camera app will be familiar to Samsung users and there are multiple shooting modes including Food, Night, Super Slow-Mo and a Pro mode. The app also includes AR emojis that were available on the device last year.
The Camera app is very well organized and easy to switch between the three cameras. During the day's shooting, the Galaxy Note 10 lights meters properly. The photos taken during the day had good details and the text was well organized in the distance. The wide-angle camera provides the same color tone as the primary camera, which is a good thing. However, you will notice distortion at the edges of wide-angle photos.

Video recording maxed out at 4K 60fps for most cameras and 4K at 30fps for selfie shooters. The output is stable while shooting 4K as well as 1080p, and you have the option to switch between the three rear cameras when shooting. The Galaxy Note 10 Lite works well on stable video. It also has a super-steep mode that uses a wide-angle camera to record video and cut the frame to better stabilize it. The quality of the video is submerged in low light and we have noticed a ripple effect on our sample clips.

Verdict
Samsung's Galaxy S and Galaxy Note models have a strong hold on the flagship segment. However, there is a gap between the rupees in the market. 35,000 and 50,000 price points. While we had some doubts about Samsung lowering its Galaxy S and Note brands at lower price points, and given the Galaxy Note 10 Lite's similar software experience to its flagship-grade siblings, we felt the hardware could have been better.

5 bucks for the asking price. 38,999, facing some stiff competition from Galaxy Note 10 Lite OnePlus 7T (review) and Oppo Reno 10X Zoom version (review). The competition packs better hardware and is a better camera in the Reno 10X zoom version. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is still available for a premium of Rs. 67,900 which helps make the Galaxy Note 10 Lite look attractive.

Unlike the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite, the Note 10 Lite sports a headphone jack and has an S Pen stylus that helps it stand out. However, the use of a two year old processor is not a good move in our books. The Galaxy Note 10 Lite will appeal to anyone who wants to experience the note without paying the full price for it.
